SuSE Linux Enterprise 10 is Novell's latest release of its Linux distribution. Novell said that it has received a warm welcome for Suse Linux Enterprise 10, which launched on July 18. Over 165000 users from across the globe have already downloaded components of the Suse Linux Enterprise 10 suite. It includes the Suse Linux Enterprise Server and Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop products. SUSE Linux Enterprise was downloaded every five seconds on average since it became available.
According to Novell the new SLED and SLES are the best engineered and lowest cost products for both desktop and server needs. Novell added Xen virtualization and new application security features. On the server side, Novell is looking to Suse Linux Enterprise to give the company a product that can win share from its rival, number one Linux player - Red Hat.
SuSE Linux Enterprise 10 includes Novell AppArmor, the revolutionary application-level security service. SuSE Linux includes a complete portfolio of integrated management tools to simplify and automate configuration and patch management. With Xen you can consolidate multiple workloads on a single server, allocate a single workload across multiple servers, and increase server utilization levels as high as 70%. SuSE includes YaST, ZENworks Linux Management and Novell Customer Center to simplify and enhance the management of the system.
