Strange domain names could be strange in different ways. There are several ways in which you can find them odd of even funny. First of all - it could be a strange word or phrase. Here are some:
10. quincunx.com
9. gross.com
8. sasquatch.com
7. monkeyspunk.com
6. skank.com
5. clownfart.com
4. boogers.com
3. stubby.org
2. dickenscider.com
1. longwang.com
Domains could also be strange in another way. They could be made of some words but without spaces they could be read in different way sometimes even vulgar.
It must have seemed a good idea to name a website after the well-known phrase "The pen is mightier than the sword." The result is www.penismightier.com . And it is not the only one to have fallen into the trap. Here is a collection of websites of this kind. Therapists in the US wanted to provide therapy, help but ... www.therapistfinder.com speaks for itself ;) . Here is a betting site - www.oddsexchange.com which also has a lot of visitors wrongly went to it because of its second meaning if you make a mistake where to put the space between the words. "We're not just a printer," claims the American firm Tri-Plex. And they guarantee: "Short runs or long, we can handle both equally well." But it makes you wonder what kind of service they are offering from their website with a name like this: www.triplexbusiness.com . If you are looking for a place to download the newest hits in MP3 format you have come to the right place: www.mp3shits.com . No questions about it :). Law firm Morrison & Foerster have more than 1,000 legal eagles worldwide. Surely you would have thought one would have spotted the clanger in their site. They couldn't have been briefed properly that it contains a slang abbreviation for a rather strong swear word that would leave them in contempt in the courtroom: www.mofo.com . If you need an IT expert to fix bugs in your PC, or if you are having problems with your hardware this a good place to search for it: www.expertsexchange.com . Looking for an actor and want to get in touch with his or her agent? Then Who Represents is a database of contact names and numbers. But the site owners may well become brassed off by some of the unsavoury clients it attracts: www.whorepresents.com .
And here is my third idea of strange domain names. It is made of domain name and the countrycode.
ba.be, call.it, can.be, click.it, co.at, eu.net, ge.org, get.it, glo.be, inter.net, ja.net, like.it, look.at, meet.it, net.com, pe.net, read.it, sci.fi, see.it, take.it, this.is ... and many more
There are just millions of ideas of how to name your website. Here is just a small list of some strange domain names that I found in the net. If you are interested or just curious go try for yourself.
